Urban morphology and key actors to understand the urban history of Tunja in the 20th century

Abstract

El primer libro de la colección Tunja Siglo XX presenta las condiciones generales de la misma, que abarca la totalidad de los 100 años del siglo, con periodos específicos de análisis definidos mediantes cortes en 1905, 1939, 1957, 1989 y 2005. Se menciona la metodología descriptiva y cualitativa que emplea la prensa local como fuente investigativa fundamental. En el marco teórico se aclaran conceptos como: historia urbana, agentes urbanos, análisis estructural de la forma urbana, morfología urbana, morfogénesis y tipología. De otra parte, se presentan los antecedentes investigativos del tema en el contexto internacional, español, colombiano y local. Asimismo, adelanta las conclusiones generales del crecimiento de Tunja a lo largo de la centuria.

The first book of the 20th Century Tunja´s collection presents the general conditions of herself, which covers the entire 100 years of the century, with specific periods of analysis defined by cuts in 1905, 1939, 1957, 1989, and 2005. The descriptive and qualitative methodology used by the local press as a fundamental research source is mentioned. In the theoretical framework, concepts such as urban history, urban agents, structural analysis of the urban form, urban morphology, morphogenesis, and typology are clarified. On the other hand, the investigative background of the subject in the international, spanish, colombian, and local contexts is presented. It also advances the general conclusions of Tunja's growth throughout the century.
