Tunja: between regulation and chaos (1958-1973)

Abstract

El cuarto libro de la colección Tunja Siglo XX, examina el primer ejercicio de planificación urbana moderna, realizado en estos años: “Plan Piloto 1958-1985”, cuya pretensión fue regular el crecimiento territorial, si bien solo algunos de sus preceptos se aplicaron. En definitiva, los intereses encontrados llevaron al desarrollo predio a predio, desorden, incompletitud e informalidad. Los capítulos tratan de: el primero, la transformación en el periodo; el segundo, las formas de crecimiento urbano; el tercero, la transformación urbana suscitada por el plan piloto de 1958; el cuarto, la dotación de servicios públicos domiciliarios; el quinto, espacios públicos; el sexto, equipamientos e instalaciones industriales y el séptimo, urbanizaciones de vivienda formal e informal. 

The fourth book of the 20th century of Tunja´s collection examines the first exercise of modern urbanism, the "Pilot Plan 1958-1985", whose objective was to regulate territorial growth, although only some of its precepts were applied. In short, conflicting interests led to the development of property by ownership, disorder, incompleteness, and informality. The chapters deal with: the first, the transformation in the period; the second, forms of urban growth; the third, the urban transformation by the pilot plan of 1958; the fourth, the provision of public household services; the fifth, public spaces; the sixth, industrial equipment and facilities and, the seventh, urbanizations of formal and informal housing.
